Job summary
The Head of Examination Timetabling leads and co-ordinates a collaborative service which draws information from academic departments and provides support for delivery of exams to Imperial students.
As part of the Central Timetabling Support Office, within Academic Registry, you will join a friendly and supportive team. Your analytical skills will help us to reflect on ways of working and decision-making. Your advocacy and diplomacy skills will ensure that the service is developed with the support of colleagues.
The Head of Examination Timetabling will be consulted on strategic decisions and offer guidance based on experience and sector knowledge. During exam periods you will be heavily involved and lead on the operational requirements of the role.
The rise of digital assessments and supporting alternative exam arrangements require you to understand how to manage and scale up the service.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for collating departmentally generated exam timetables and allocating shared exam space. By effectively collaborating with colleagues across the College you will resolve and troubleshoot issues. Through analysing large datasets with multiple data sources, you will advise and support on proactively resolving challenges and leading on long-term planning, processes, and systems.
Essential requirements
- Experience of running a full, end to end exam service, including scheduling.
- Able to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders
- Must stay calm under pressure and be supportive and flexible as the service requires
- Be able to advise and offer guidance on managing student growth and accommodating newly emerging requirements, particularly around digital assessments
- Must be confident in presenting information to all levels of the College community

The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
