Through our student leaders and elected representatives, we grow and support communities of students as they provide opportunities for others and change the world around us for the better.The Head of Student Voice & Academic Engagement is responsible for ensuring that our programs of engagement, democracy and representation are effective, innovative and equitable, enabling students to raise their voices on the issues that matter to them, facilitating ways for students to collaborate, and to ensure the can listen and speak with the voice of our collective student body.About usOur Student Voice team work with students to drive student issues, celebrate good practice and work with key stakeholders to co-create an outstanding student journey. We want our student leaders as the societal leaders of tomorrow to be experts in the practice of citizenship and in leading communities for positive change. This role is key to supporting and championing our student leaders to navigate the political landscape of the world around them, to be effective representatives and thought leaders in driving impactful change in the student experience at Bath, and wider society.This role will work closely with Professional Services and Academic Departments to support student engagement to ensure our students have the best possible student experience.About youWe are looking for someone who:
- has great people skills – supporting and empowering our diverse community of student leaders, positively engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders to deliver meaningful change.
- is an experienced communicator – ability to write papers and reports, prepare formal submissions, give presentations and briefings, and support creating copy on complex and sensitive topics
- has an excellent understanding of Higher Education policies and practise to enable them to advise on emerging issues and current topics, helping steer our approach to ensuring an excellent student experience
- is flexible, adaptable and open minded – Students’ Unions are fast paced and priorities can change rapidly. We need someone highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
