DescriptionOur Vaughan client is seeking a National Health and Safety Manager to join their team, overseeing Health & Safety initiatives and management for branches across Ontario and Canada.Location: Vaughan, On (on-site)
Salary: $90-95,000 annually

-Company eventsThe Health and Safety Manager will have a crucial role in establishing and overseeing every aspect of our national Health & Safety initiatives. This individual will be responsible for implementing occupational health and safety projects, such as crafting policies, procedures, programs, and training sessions to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation. They will strive to maintain a secure, healthy, and safe workplace environment for employees. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and research abilities, along with a solid understanding of federal and provincial laws. Bi-weekly travel within Ontario, and quarterly travel within Canada will be necessary for this role.Overview of Responsibilities
-Develop, implement, and enhance a comprehensive health and safety program in alignment with organizational objectives.
-Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures for compliance with regulations.
-Establish and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to meet legal requirements and industry standards.
-Manage Worker Compensation programs, conduct investigations, and oversee Return to Work processes.
-Provide guidance and support to all branches regarding safety equipment usage and adherence to protocols.
-Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive measures, ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
-Monitor safety performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend enhancements.
-Design, deliver, and maintain health and safety training programs and promote safe work practices.
-Prepare reports, maintain safety records, and ensure compliance through employee follow-up.
-Travel to various branches will be required.Skills and Qualifications
-Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
-Possession of certifications such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) an asset.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Health and Safety roles.
-Certification in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and First Aid is required.
-Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
-Knowledge of Provincial and Federal Occupational Health & Safety legislation, Workers Compensation, and industry standards is essential.
-Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and time-management skills are necessary.
-A valid Driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle for business purposes are mandatory.
