Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Health Services Director, The Health Services Manager is responsible for the management, planning and coordination at the Dartmouth General Hospital site, including daily operations of people-centred programs within and external to the Central Zone, NSH. Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department. The Health Services Manager is also responsible for providing the leadership required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum. Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviours. This position also requires a high degree of initiative and change leadership ability. The ability to travel freely in the Zone is required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Bachelor’s Degree in a health related discipline required.Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio is preferred.Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment. is preferred.An interest in Palliative Care preferred; knowledge of approach to Palliative Care an asset.Ability to develop strong relationships within and outside of NS Health (ie, community palliative care team).Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health.Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness.Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum.Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement.About You (Continued)Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support.Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle.Capable to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSH as necessary.Demonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employment.Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweeklyFlexibility outside of regular business hours requiredCompensation and Benefits$45.45 – $60.39 HourlySuccessful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.Once You’ve AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
