Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Construction Superintendents with a background in heavy civil, site work, excavation, bridgework, or underground utilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil/dirt job projects such as dams, water resources, transportation, and site work. The role requires strong scheduling and management skills, effective communication, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Run and manage a crew of operators and laborers on the ground.

• Manage subcontractors for various projects.

• Self-perform tasks including installation of cofferdams, dewatering sumps, and wells; demolition of existing concrete structures; excavation; controlled embankment fill; excavation of deep pipe trenches using shoring; and installation of pipe and manholes.

• Oversee a major subcontractor performing cast-in-place concrete work for new spillways.

• Ensure daily reports are completed accurately.

• Maintain project schedules and manage daily operations effectively.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.

• Experience in heavy civil, site work, excavation, bridgework, or underground utilities.

• Proficiency in scheduling and management.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to give and receive feedback constructively.

• Leadership qualities and a proactive attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in dam construction is preferred.

• No additional certifications or training required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 – $140000.00/yr.
