We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and inclusive school in Hounslow. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in providing high-quality support to our teachers and students, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality classroom support to teachers across various subjects, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with additional learning needs (SEND).
  • Lead small group sessions or 1:1 interventions to support pupils’ academic progress and personal development.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, adapting materials and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Help in the delivery of specific educational programmes, working closely with teachers to monitor students’ progress.
  • Support in the assessment and evaluation of pupils’ work, providing feedback and guidance to improve their learning.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment, promoting engagement, participation, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to create and implement tailored support plans for students.
  • Supervise students during non-teaching times such as break times or lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEND), in a school environment.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children to access it effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students’ academic and emotional needs.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing classroom dynamics.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Expected salary

£145 per day
