The opportunity

The Lecturer in FBS Fashion Buying and Merchandising is responsible for the teaching, curriculum development, unit management and on-going scholarship on their allocated course. The course is part of the Fashion Business School at the London College of Fashion. The lecturer will undertake teaching, unit management, curriculum development and research in their specialist area of fashion.

The post holder will work collaboratively within the course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

 

About you

The applicant should have:

  • An Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (essential), 
  • Membership of the Higher Education Academy (desirable)
  • Experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract) (desirable)
  • A Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent). (desirable)

They will be expected to:

  • Apply an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching
  • Consider equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment
  • Commit to understanding the range of students’ experiences within a course.
  • Work effectively with a team across different professional groups
  • Work effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people
  • Plan, prioritise and manage resources effectively to achieve objectives
  • Use contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration
  • Have evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the application of e-commerce in fashion and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University
  • Support the Course team to manage the effective running of the course and ensuring the best student experience  
  • Support the Course team in the planning and development of the curriculum and programme, supporting the process of reviewing existing curricula and contributing to the identification and validation of new units.
