EBF (the European Banking Federation) works at the heart of the European banking sector. Our daily activities are determined by the dynamics between European integration, finance, public policy and financial regulation. It is our job to bring together 33 national banking associations in Europe and represent some 3,500 banks – large and small, wholesale and retail, local and international.

EBF is looking for a full-time (could be also part time) HR Officer.
Purpose of the position
The HR Officer has as her/his main focus to facilitate and ensure a fully staffed, competent, healthy and motivated team, a safe, positive working environment and atmosphere and a structured and compliant HR operation in the field of staff administration, payrolling, recruitment & selection and development & training. Takes full responsibility and initiative for own field of activities under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Partnerships and assures compliance with regulations in the field of employer obligations, social security and other employer/employee related matters.
Main result areas
- Assures a service-minded staff helpdesk function/first point of contact for HR matters, including access to, HR policies, HR information and documentation;
- Manages the full HR lifecycle of EBF staff members (recruitment & selection, contracts, on-boarding, performance management, recognition, development & training, off-boarding);
- Manages the EBF HR, payroll and group insurance administration;
- Manages and delivers an annual agenda of internal staff communication, training, team-building and staff motivation and socializing activities;
- Other supporting activities of the Operations team.
- Under consideration: Oversees compliance and delivery of EBF’s internal prevention activities and required documentation.
Focus activities
- Initiatives and executes the delivery of an integral and forward-focused HR strategy and the set-up of the HR lifecycle, including:
- Employer branding and recruitment
- Training & development
- Retention & succession
- Manages the EBF HR & payroll administration (including HR records) and the connected relationships with external providers, including but not limited to social secretariat, group insurance supplier and labour lawyers;
- Ensures a complete, up-to-date and compliant library of policies, procedures and work regulations and ensure employees’ awareness and compliance;
- Contributes and coordinates the recruitment and selection process of new EBF employees;
- Ensures the onboarding process for newcomers and the exit process for leavers;
- Ensures complete and structured HR filing;
- Designs, oversees and coordinates the performance review process;
- Designs and implements a coherent annual agenda of training activities, staff meetings and motivational staff activities.
Successful candidates fit for the following profile:
- At least five years of experience in a similar human resources role;
- Fluent in English (written/oral) and in at least one of the Belgian languages (French /Dutch);
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality;
- A solution-oriented with thorough way of thinking and working;
- Good planner: thinks ahead and knows how to manage a multitude of tasks and projects while maintaining overview of (the feasibility of) short and long-term priorities;
- Team player with good communication and people skills;
- Initiative taking self-starter who likes to work with autonomy;
- Flexible, agile, embraces innovation and change;
- Stress-resistant, comfortable with working under pressure and with deadlines;
- Resilient with positive can-do mentality.
