We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.About the jobThe primary responsibilities for this position are to implement policies, procedures, and actions at the Magog Quebec Canada site, under the direction of the Site Director, that meet both regulatory and Nouryon standards for: Health, Safety (people and process), Security, and Environment (including Sustainability). The position will have a primary focus on Health and Safety compliance and injury prevention for the site, and will apply applicable (and future) regulations by establishing, improving, and maintaining programs. Maintain and carry out duties associated with ISO, Responsible Care© 14001 and Nouryon requirements. Consults with site leadership, and peers across the region to maintain compliance while sharing best practices. Monitors changes in regulations and applicable implementation thereof. Track and report sustainability metrics and providing input on plans to meet Nouryon and site ecoefficiency targets.In your future role as a HSE Manager, you will:

• Contribute, as an expert in health, safety, security, and environment, to the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan within your plant;
• Support the plant management in the application of the health, safety, security, and environmental strategy and the establishment of the associated management system;
• Coordinate prevention activities to ensure compliance with applicable general regulatory requirements and those of the company;
• Respond to environmental legal requirements (data, analysis, and recommendations);
• Support management in the implementation of the prevention program and the industrial hygiene program;
• Maintain or develop prevention records (procedures);
• Provide occupational health and safety training;
• Manage the administrative aspects of initiatives following incidents and audits;
• Supervise activities related to the industrial emergency brigade.

Great if you have

• Experience working in a PSM (Process Safety Management) facility
• Experience on writing procedures from beginning to end and training employees on them
• A background working within a labor union environment
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills;
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, good analytical skills, and ability to think creatively;
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate.

We believe you bring

• Hold a certificate or Bachelor’s degree (occupational health and safety and/or environment);
• Have relevant experience of 5 years in a coordinator position in an industrial or chemical environment;
• Mastery of laws and regulations regarding health, safety, and environment;
• Familiarity with the behavior-based safety system BBS;
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and RC 14000 standards;
• Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (ALPS, 5S, 5P, etc.);
• Proficient in technological tools, especially Microsoft Office;
• Mastery of the English language, both orally and in writing.

Le poste mettra principalement l’accent sur la conformité en matière de santé et de sécurité et la prévention des blessures sur le site, et appliquera les réglementations applicables (et futures) en établissant, améliorant et maintenant des programmes. Il maintient et exécute les tâches associées à la norme ISO, à la norme Responsible Care© 14001 et aux exigences de Nouryon. Il consulte la direction du site et les pairs dans la région pour maintenir la conformité tout en partageant les meilleures pratiques. Il surveille les changements dans les réglementations et leur mise en œuvre applicable. Il suit et rapporte les indicateurs de durabilité et fournit des contributions sur les plans visant à atteindre les objectifs d’éco-efficacité de Nouryon et du site.Dans votre futur rôle de gestionnaire SSE, vous allez :

• Contribuer, en tant qu’expert en santé, sécurité, sûreté et environnement, à la mise en œuvre du plan stratégique de l’organisation au sein de votre usine ;
• Soutenir la direction de l’usine dans l’application de la stratégie santé, sécurité, sûreté et environnement et l’établissement du système de gestion associé ;
• Coordonner les activités de prévention pour garantir la conformité aux exigences réglementaires générales et celles de l’entreprise ;
• Répondre aux exigences légales en matière environnementale (données, analyses et recommandations) ;
• Soutenir la direction dans la mise en œuvre du programme de prévention et du programme d’hygiène industrielle ;
• Maintenir ou développer des dossiers de prévention (procédures) ;
• Fournir une formation en santé et sécurité au travail ;
• Gérer les aspects administratifs des initiatives suite à des incidents et des audits ;
• Superviser les activités liées à la brigade d’urgence industrielle.

Ce serait encore mieux si vous avez :

• De l’expérience dans une installation PSM (Process Safety Management)
• De l’expérience dans la rédaction de procédures de A à Z et dans la formation des employés à leur sujet
• Une expérience de travail dans un environnement syndiqué
• Une attitude positive et de solides compétences interpersonnelles
• Le souci du détail, la rigueur, de bonnes compétences analytiques et la capacité à penser de manière créative
• Une forte capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches simultanément
• La capacité à travailler en équipe et à collaborer.

Nous croyons que vous apportez :

• Un certificat ou un baccalauréat (santé sécurité au travail et/ou environnement)
• Une expérience pertinente de 5 ans dans un poste de coordonnateur dans un environnement industriel ou chimique
• Une maîtrise des lois et règlements en matière de santé, sécurité et environnement
• Une connaissance du système de sécurité basé sur les comportements BBS
• Une connaissance des normes ISO 14001 et RC 14000
• Une connaissance des outils d’amélioration continue (ALPS, 5S, 5P, etc.)
• Une bonne maîtrise des outils technologiques, notamment Microsoft Office
• Une maîtrise de la langue anglaise, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
