Job description
Crossroads Staffing is searching for a Human resource administrator to join our client’s team. They are a local manufacturer and distributor of specialty food products.
This will be a maternity leave position from April 15, 2024, until approximately June 9, 2025.What you will need to do:
- Lead recruitment and onboarding process for new hires.
- Ensure new hire information packages are complete and accurate.
- Coordinate training preparation: Photocopy, sort documents, assemble new hire & training package, allot helmet and new employee #, set up boardroom for training session etc.
- Conduct pre-employment screening and prepare offers for new hires.
- Conduct new hire onboarding, orientation, and training.
- Assist in the implementation of policies, programs, and procedures.
- Coordinate and execute employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both physically and digitally.
- Generate and provide management with relevant HR/Health and Safety reports.
- Support management in handling employee matters, including investigations.
- Ensure adherence to HR and health and safety policies and procedures.
- Serve as a member of the Joint Health & Safety committee, facilitating monthly safety meetings and inspections.
- Serve as the primary HR/Health & Safety contact with external organizations, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
- Act as the facilitator for employees returning to work from workplace or non-occupational injury/illness, considering return-to-work protocols.
- Mange Employee Communication and Health & Safety board throughout both plants.
- Check Pre-Op Safety Sheets weekly & follow up with both plant locations.
- Understand, adhere, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Manage vacation and attendance policies for all employees.
- Facilitate performance reviews.
- Ensure the HRIS is consistently monitored, updated, maintained, and ensure any employee changes and issues are managed.
Administration Responsibilities:
- Receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, central booking for meetings.
- Orders, receives, and maintains adequate levels of all office supplies.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail items daily and drop off, preparing envelopes for Finance.
- Laminating, printing, photocopy documents & other various admin support activities
- Order coffee, receives & maintains coffee & related supplies.

- Proficient in all computer skills, including Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint
What’s required for the position:
- High School graduate
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Valid Drivers license
- Fluent in English – spoken and written.
Hours of Work:
