Our strength is our peopleWe invite you to follow your dreams and explore a challenging and rewarding career at Martinrea.Job Summary: Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department through communication of policies and procedures and updating the HR systems accuratelyRequired Education and Experience:
- Completion of/or in process of obtaining Diploma in Human Resources Management
- Must be working towards Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP)
- Minimum 18 – 24 months experience
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of best practices
- Strong Coordination and organizational skills
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the maintenance of the company’s Performance Management systems, Performance Appraisal process, Progressive Discipline process and Performance Improvement Plan
- Manage the temporary worker population
- Coordinate the Martinrea Orientation Model for all temporary and full-time employees. Complete the necessary administration to ensure they are entered into the HR systems accordingly
- Ensure all system requirements are being met for tracking of company training; Update Employee/Department Training records in HR systems, update employees’ files and follow up where necessary
- Administer benefits; update employee changes in on-line system and assist employees with benefit questions and submission of forms
- Maintenance of employee files and communication boards; by keeping communication boards current and tidy and ensure employee files are neat, organized and up to date
- Assist HR Manager with recruitment tasks, job description creation, sorting resumes, and postings
- Provide backup to HR Manager during absence by providing support to employees, Supervisors and Manager where possible
- Identity and implement improvements for HR department, to ensure runs as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Coordinate Uniform program by recording and responding to employee requests and communication to Cintas representative
- Assist employees with concerns and answer questions on the Martinrea Employee Handbook and other HR related questions
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment:
- 80% Office environment, 20% Plant floor (PPE required)
- Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
- Overtime as required
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
- Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis
Health and Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
