Position SummaryThe Human Resources Director is a key member and leader across Magellan Aerospace’s 4 UK based facilities (Wrexham, Blackpool, Greyabbey and Euravia) manufacturing facilities. Partnering closely with the local HR teams and reporting to the Vice President, Global Human Resources, the incumbent will be accountable for all aspects of the Human Resources function including: Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Performance Management, Compliance and Reporting, Technology and Administration. Essential Responsibilities

  • As the top HR Leader for all divisions in the region, recommends and implements strategic HR initiatives, designed to support the attainment of Corporate objectives.
  • Serves as a member of Magellan Aerospace senior leadership team to help shape the development and execution of the business strategies.
  • Directs a team of HR professionals in the region with a focus on developing future HR leaders and creating an inspiring employee experience in each division.
  • Provides expertise and extensive knowledge to ensure legislative compliance of the HR function across regional facilities.
  • In conjunction with the Global HR Team, leads the talent planning process to drive a culture of employee development, workforce planning and improved succession readiness.
  • Acts as a business partner to the Divisional Managers and General Managers to provide HR business expertise and perspective on regional initiatives.
  • Provides direction for the Divisions in the areas of Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Performance Management, Compliance and Reporting, Technology and Administration.
  • Identifies and clarifies priority issues within the regional HR team.
  • Remains abreast of industry talent acquisition trends, best practices and relevant legislation by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Prepares an annual budget for the function and manage expenses according to budget targets.
  • Manages Labour negotiations in all regional sites.
  • Travels to Magellan’s facilities in the region, approx. 20-40% of the total time.

Position RequirementsAcademic:BA required, MSc, Master’s degree an assetProfessional Accreditations:Desired, membership in HRPA/CPHR (Canada), SHRM (USA), CIPD/MCIPD (UK) or other governing professional bodyExperience:10-15 years of progressive experience in diverse HR disciplines. Thorough working experience of resolving complex employee relations, investigation and casework problems. Strong employee relations backgroundPrevious experience within the Aerospace Manufacturing industry is an asset but not mandatoryKey Competencies:
