Assignment/Activity: Consultancy assignment for a project titled “The Exemplars in Women’s Health and Wellbeing (WHW) Project: The Case of Bangladesh”

Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka

Expected start date of assignment: September 20, 2025

Duration: 20 Days

Background and purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to assist in mapping and analyzing financial commitments and expenditures related to improvements in WHW dimensions across the life course in Bangladesh.

The consultant will contribute to the technical aspects of mapping and analyzing financial commitments and expenditures during the survey.

Objective

The objective of this analysis is to map and analyze financial commitments and expenditures related to WHW dimensions across the life course in Bangladesh.

Details Terms of Reference (ToR) will be shared with selected candidate.

Specific responsibilities include:

Collaborating with the team to identify Key WHW Financing Sources

Assisting team to identify funding by contributor that marks catalytic investments and/or major decreases since 2000

Assisting team to identify investments in each dimension as a proportion of overall WHW spending

Assisting team to identify investments in WHW as proportion of non-WHW spending

Supporting the creation of a comprehensive list of polices/programs/strategies that led to the improvement of WHW since 2000 by sourcing and reviewing grey literature and adding additional information (where necessary) regarding policy, program, and strategy financing and implementation

Consultancy duration and travel requirements

The consultancy duration is[20 days], starting from [September 20, 2025]

Remote work is allowed, but the consultant may be required to travel to field sites for data collection and survey-related activities

Required qualifications and experience:

Educational Qualifications:

Advanced degree (Ph.D./Master’s) in Economics, Public Policy, or related discipline.

Professional Experience:

7–10 years’ professional experience in research, policy analysis, or program evaluation.

Proven expertise in analyzing government, donor, and household financing flows in health, nutrition, or women’s empowerment.

Familiarity with Bangladesh’s financing and policy context; ability to deliver high-quality reports and data visualizations.
