This project will develop an improved genetic test for identifying children at-risk of developing myopia and high myopia. The studentship is funded by the College of Optometrists. It consists of university tuition fees at the home student rate, as well as a stipend to cover living expenses of £18,622 p.a (subject to satisfactory annual progress).
Eligibility: Candidates must be a GOC-registered optometrist and be a UK member of the College of Optometrists at the start of the research project and remain in membership for the duration of the scholarship. Applicants must have obtained a First Class or Upper Second Class degree.
