Description of the Assignment: Under the supervision of the National Project Manager of the Marine Debris Project, the Individual Consultant will work closely with the project operations team and relevant UNDP colleagues to support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities. The consultant will undertake the following tasks:
1. Support implementation monitoring by tracking project activities against approved work plans, timelines, procurement milestones, and contractual deliverables.
2. Facilitate coordination with government counterparts and key stakeholders to support alignment of project activities with government priorities and ensure smooth implementation.
3. Support the development of coordination mechanisms, including communication channels, information flows, and stakeholder engagement arrangements for project implementation.
4. Assist in preparing implementation monitoring plans and timelines to track progress across project activities and initiatives.
5. Monitor and document implementation progress, including reviewing outputs from meetings, missions, and partner activities.
6. Compile and analyze implementation information, identifying operational issues or delays and providing recommendations to support timely delivery of project outputs.
7. Identify potential operational and implementation risks and support the development of mitigation measures in coordination with the project team.
8. Support monitoring of administrative and procurement-related processes relevant to project implementation.
9. Document lessons learned and implementation insights to support continuous improvement of project delivery.
10. Prepare coordination notes, analytical summaries, and implementation briefs to support internal decision-making and reporting by the project team.
11. Maintain organized documentation and records of project communications, coordination outcomes, and follow-up actions.
Period of assignment/services: 90 working days within 6 months
