About us
As the leading trade association for energy users, ADE: Demand represent over 150 interested
parties from across the energy sector. Decarbonisation of buildings, transport and industry is
increasing and long-term, the fundamentals are strong. However, it remains the case that
business cases for decarbonisation and providing flexibility are too difficult, uptake rates
are too slow and generation and storage still dominant thinking in the major energy debates of
our day: in the role of market signals, centralised planning, connections reform. Furthermore,
the prevailing view of the role demand will play in the energy system remains wedded to its

About the role
ADE: Demand is recruiting for a Policy Officer or Manager (maternity cover), with a specialist
focus on industrial and non-domestic energy. Industrial decarbonisation is one of the most
challenging and exciting areas of the UK’s efforts to address climate change. You will work
across the UK’s pioneering efforts to create a new hydrogen network system for industrial
clusters, pushing for greater clarity and ambition for industrial sites dispersed outside of
those clusters and for a continued focus on industrial energy efficiency through technologies
such as Combined Heat and Power.
With a focus on industrial energy, you will work with industrial companies, Government and
others to secure meaningful changes in policy and regulation that support decarbonisation of
British industry.
As part of the broader policy team and the wider ADE: Demand team, you will work on diverse
projects including original research to support our policy positions and supporting our
political and press engagement.
