The WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) aims to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks, and lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and to provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations.Within WHE, the Emergency Operations (EMO) Programme Area is responsible for ensuring that emergency-affected populations have access to an essential package of life-saving health services. This includes establishing comprehensive incident management for coordinated action in all graded and protracted health emergencies, assisting and coordinating the implementation of health operations to agreed standards through partner and WHO operational networks as well as providing supplies and logistical services and operational support for all graded and protracted health emergencies. EMO also guides strategic policy development and inter-agency relations for the Programme.
Key duties:1. Updating the list of health facilities and their unique identifier codes. Assisting partners in the harmonised use of these codes for 4Ws, HeRAMS and reporting to the SSA database.2. Review incoming data in the SSA database for completeness and consistency and follow-up with partners.3. Support Health Sector partners in connection with the management of health sector information.4. Standardise definitions, questionnaires, forms and procedures for the collection and entering of data into the different databases.5. Provide support to partners to collect, collate, manage and analyse data relevant to the Syria crisis; provide technical support on the presentation and visualization of results (including mapping and infograph).6.Maintain geospatial databases and ensure data quality and integrity through the use of automated and manual techniques to enter, edit and process data sets.7. Participate in cluster initiatives, related to information management, seeking to improve information sharing between partners, to strengthen access to information from other organizations and clusters8. Aggregate and maintain information from WHO and partners including contact lists, 3W, HeRAMS, health indicator data, health situation data, health response data.9. Participate in any other activity that may be required to strengthen health cluster capacity to support Health Sector partners in connection with the management of health sector information.10. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential: First university degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics other or similar field from an accredited/ recognized institute.
Desirable: Experience with WHO tools such as the HeRAMS, SSA database. Experience in project management.
Essential: At least two years of experience at the national and or international level in information management in humanitarian situations.
Desirable: Related experience with WHO, the UN System or international NGO work in the field of outbreaks and or health emergency response.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 36,813 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
