Location: Hybrid – 4 days/week on-site in Toronto
Job Type: Full-time role with tenured team, strong compensation, health benefits, and stability!We are seeking a talented and experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in hardware, network technologies, and Linux to join our client’s team in Toronto. They are a well-known Cloud storage provider and you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure within their local data center that supports their software development and deployment processes.Key Responsibilities:Infrastructure Design and Management:– Install, configure and manage servers, networking equipment, and related components, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
– Continue to scale out our high availability 200PB+ in-house storage infrastructure.
– Perform extensive hands-on work within a datacenter.Monitoring and Performance Optimization:– Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure timely detection and resolution of issues within the infrastructure.
– Analyze system performance and identify areas for optimization, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.Security and Compliance:– Implement best practices for securing hardware and network infrastructure, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to hardware and network security.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:– Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and network-related incidents, working closely with software developers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
– Provide timely response to critical incidents and participate in on-call rotation as needed.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:– Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
– Share knowledge and expertise with team members to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.Qualifications:– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
– Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on hardware and network infrastructure.
– Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, VPN, and load balancing.
– Familiarity with hardware components, server provisioning, and data center operations.
– Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and task orchestration.
– Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Lxc, Docker, Kubernetes).
– Complete proficiency in Linux, especially on the CLI.
