This is an opportunity to join RSPB Cymru supporting delivery of the Caletwr Catchment Integrated Natural Resources Scheme (INRS), funded by the Welsh Government, in Conwy, North Wales. Working with a cluster of farmers and advisory and delivery partners, you will help demonstrate how farming and food production can be more sustainable while delivering clear benefits for nature and natural resources.
The project supports key RSPB Cymru priorities, including Curlew conservation, peatland restoration, water quality and placing trees in the right locations. It also helps develop and test joined-up advice and practical support for farmers delivering the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS). See project outline for more information.
We are seeking a motivated Farm Support Specialist to provide conservation advice and guidance as part of a small team supporting farmers to become more sustainable, resilient and nature positive.
Reporting to the INRS Project Manager, you will deliver practical, evidence-based advice and ongoing support to farms within the project. This includes helping farmers understand SFS options, supporting planning and delivery of agreed land management actions, and contributing directly to practical work where appropriate.
The role combines advisory support, habitat management and monitoring, working closely with farmers, advisers and contractors to ensure actions are joined-up, well planned and effective.
