Employment Opportunity No.: 24.149Closing Date: November 26, 2024The Yukon Water and Wastewater Operator program (YWWOP) offers a range of courses designed to meet the needs of new and prospective water and wastewater operators, as well as current operators working within governments (municipal, territorial, federal or First Nation) and the private sector (e.g. mining, water delivery).Our ‘Core’ courses are designed to prepare participants to write a related Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) exam. ‘Elective’ courses are designed to develop technical and workplace essential skills related to the water and wastewater sector and offer continuing education units (CEUs). ‘Specialized’ courses can be developed to meet the needs of a specific group.Reporting to the Department Head, Workforce and Business Development, the YWWOP Instructor/Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing instructional, curriculum development, coordination and related duties in the Yukon Water and Wastewater Operator Program. The incumbent will also be required to teach in related subject areas. This position liaises with the Circuit Rider Training Program Coordinator to provide comprehensive training, support, and capacity building to students and operators.The ideal applicant will have a degree or technical diploma in a relevant discipline and/or a related industry certification. A master’s degree would be an asset. Familiarity with water and wastewater operations and the related regulatory environment and certifications is required. Experience coordinating programs or projects, as well as experience teaching, is essential. Strength in all forms of communication is required.
