Instructor I Position in Indigenous Studies – Position #35018

Responsibilities:

The Department of Indigenous Studies, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a full time, three-year term appointment at the rank of Instructor I.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements are that the applicant hold an MA with completion of some doctoral course work within the field of Indigenous Studies or a related discipline. The candidate must have the expertise to teach the department introductory courses as well as a range of upper-level course commensurate to experience and expertise of the successful candidate. Department practice has been to provide TA support for large lecture sections, including INDG 1200, INDG 1220, and INDG 1240, which successful applicants may be expected to teach each year of their appointment. Responsibilities will consist of undergraduate teaching in one or more delivery modes, including in-person, remote learning, and distance instruction and some service-related activities.

The appointment may begin on or after August 1, 2024. The salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.
