GROW YOUR FUTURE WITH KOCH FERTILIZER CANADA, ULC!We are looking for an Instrumentation Technician to join our team!!!Our TeamBased in Brandon, Manitoba, we synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 270 dedicated team members. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the successful applicant will be hired into this position at ‘M3’ rate (currently$42.99/hr). All overtime is paid at double time.What You Will Do

  • Be a leader in the implementation and application of best practices for quality installations and maintenance for the following:
  • Pneumatic tubing
  • Temperature sensors and indicators
  • Pressure and vacuum sensors and indicators
  • Oxygen and gas analysis equipment in laboratories
  • Moisture and humidity sensing and indicating systems
  • Sensors and indicators measuring speed, position, vibration and timing
  • Flow sensors and indicators
  • Pneumatic or electronic transmitters and data scanning systems
  • Monitoring and alarm systems
  • Control Valves

Drive betterment opportunities to achieve for improvement of safety, quality of installations, and reliable performance of instrumentationShare knowledge of industry trends and training with other members of the teamCollaborate with all members of the site for self growth and business value.Provide feedback to peers, supervisors, subject matter experts and managers to allow for continuous improvement and innovationEngage in conversation about ways to optimize condition-based maintenance and predictive maintenance strategiesRead and Interpret blueprints/drawingsExecuting Preventative Maintenance plan for maintaining the equipment up to OEM standards.Diagnosing malfunctions and conduct repairs/calibrations on plant/processing equipment.Responding to emergency equipment failures and perform troubleshooting/repair.Suggest improvements for Monitoring and Diagnostics of process conditions to support operational goals and objectives
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights
  • Ability to pass pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear gas mask-type respirator and PPE
  • Tolerance to fumes and airborne particles (occasional exposure)
  • Unassisted physical mobility in and around plant
  • Availability for shift work and emergency call out
  • Ability to travel to and enter site and access equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent (ie. GED)
  • Instrumentation Technician Certificate progressing towards a Red Seal Instrumentation Mechanic
  • Valid Class Five (5) driver’s license

What will put you ahead:

  • Experience working with maintenance planning programs such as Maximo or similar
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Instrumentation certification
  • At least three (3) years of related industrial experience
