Intensive Case Management Coordinator

BACKGROUND:

The IRC-Wichita office has been providing services to newly arrived refugees since 2011. The IRC-Wichita office serves refugees and immigrants by providing resettlement and placement, family strengthening services through trauma informed care, economic empowerment, youth and adult education and immigration services provided by a Department of Justice accredited legal representative. The IRC helps those in need to rebuild their lives and regain control of their future in their new home.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Intensive Case Management (ICM) Coordinator leads a team of both ICM and OIRS caseworkers to address barriers to safety and wellness for especially vulnerable refugees, asylees, and other ORReligible populations. The ICM Coordinator will train and supervise an ICM/OIRS team who works closely with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service plans to meet individual client needs utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and program requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of both ICM and OIRS caseworkers by providing direct supervision, case consultations, onboarding, and ongoing training
  • Train ICM/OIRS team to determine client eligibility for ICM/OIRS programming and conduct intake assessments, review program expectations, outcomes, and confidentiality with each potential client
  • Train and guide ICM/OIRS team to develop individualized, SMART Self-sufficiency plans for each client enrolled in the ICM program.
  • Train and guide ICM/OIRS team to evaluate client progress during active program enrollment to determine the client’s progress towards goals and work with the client to identify new needs and actions needed.
  • Conduct community outreach and maintain a strong network of service providers that meet client needs. The ICM Coordinator may also be expected to maintain a strong relationship with local and state level refugee coordinators and health coordinators to ensure client needs are met.
  • Guide staff in response to client crises.
  • Intervene in situations where staff or client safety is a concern.
  • Approve timesheets, vacation time and sick day time off for the direct reports
  • Liaise regularly with IRC HQ for guidance, support, monitoring preparation, and other information exchange as needed.
  • Understand and track the program budget, including the tracking and spending of direct financial assistance.
  • Responsible for quality assurance of case files and case note documentation regularly.
  • Attending relevant training and meetings at the local and national level.
  • May train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.
  • Provide comprehensive case management services, including assisting with benefits applications, Social Security benefits, medical care, behavioral health care, guardianship, legal services, and victim services as appropriate for ICM clients.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English required, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group preferred, including Dari/Pashto.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.

Working Environment:

  • Combination of working in a standard office environment and work in the community including meetings with community partners.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work required.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
