With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis Canada is currently looking for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join the team in our Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Evaluation and Restoration (ER) Operations. The successful candidate will have 4+ years of environmental experience with the implementation of Environmental Site Investigations including historical reviews, data gap analysis, programs involving borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, soil logging and sampling, ground water sampling, hydraulic tests and supervising remediation programs (in-situ and ex-situ) as well as assisting in the preparation of Records of Site Conditions in Ontario. This is a hybrid opportunity with ability to work remote, from the office and travel to site as required.We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.Role accountabilities:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage environmental site assessment projects including Phase I ESA’s, Phase II ESA’s, risk assessments, and remediation projects.
  • Independently conducting site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities, preparing field notes and collecting soil and groundwater samples.
  • Maintaining knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, diligent interpretation of environmental data, the comparison of sample results to applicable standards/guidelines and data QA/QC.
  • Preparing detailed and accurate Environmental Site Assessment reports (Phase I and Phase II ESAs), remedial action plans, specification development, and remediation closure reports for senior review.
  • Preparing documents relating to the completion of a Record of Site Condition in Ontario.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience mainly focused on work in Ontario.
  • Degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field
  • Prior experience with Environmental Field Programs (soil, sediment, ground water, sampling).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree considered an asset.
  • Eligible for P.Eng. or P.Geo. in Ontario.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Risk Assessment considered an asset, but not a requirement.
