We offer integrated, multidisciplinary technical expertise for the design, construction and operation of new transportation infrastructures.HATCH is currently seeking for and rail and civil engineer that will oversee various rail projects, reviewing and approving designs for various rail aspects, and writing specifications or various studies to meet customer needs. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with various rail clients.Your Challenges with us!
- Be responsible for all technical and project management projects.
- Write various technical specifications to meet client needs and participate in cost estimates.
- Design, analyze and recommend various technical solutions to meet client needs.
- Provide support to the civil and railway engineering design group with AutoDESK Civil 3D software.
- Manage and lead technical files with the team’s engineers and technicians.
- Responsible for design based on preliminary concepts and calculations.
- Perform technical evaluation of market products that best meet project needs.
- Be the point of contact with suppliers, the operator and maintenance.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Responsible for all aspects of a railway alignment (horizontal geometry and vertical profiles).
- Ensure compliance of drawings and plans.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering and member of the Nova-Scotia Engineering or member of the order of another Canadian province
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in railway and civil design.
- Significant knowledge of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) and its practices
- Experience with the standards of various railway customers (CN, CP, VIA Rail, EXO, APM, etc.).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and accurately to people at all levels.
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate drive, initiative, innovation.
- Professionalism, integrity and excellent organizational skills.
- Bilingualism in French is an asset
