The successful applicant will work independently within the scope of duties to provide advanced administrative assistance that requires considerable initiative and judgement in support of the Vice Dean, Faculty of Medicine. Responsibilities include managing Vice Dean’s calendar, correspondence, logistics for in province and out of the province meetings, transcribing letters and recommendations, completing travel claims, overseeing and coordinating processes regarding academic and administrator searches/reviews for multiple positions, maintaining databases, arranging meetings, taking minutes for meetings and committees, and other related duties. This position has multiple interactions within the Faculty of Medicine and other departments of Memorial University as well as with external contacts including Executives from Eastern Health and other Regional Authorities, Associations, etc.QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in secretarial or administrative work providing support to an executive; graduation from post-secondary office administration program or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with a strong focus on Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and proficiency with video conferencing applications (WebEx, Zoom) and file transfer applications (DropBox) is required. Experience with scheduling and database reporting are considered assets.SALARY $52,675 – $61,793 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
