Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities • Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and duties may include but are not limited to supporting LDU team activities, projects and general responsibilities and work of the of the Unit. • In particular, the intern assists in the design and preparation of learning opportunities on humanitarian, disaster, emergency relief, and related issues • Assists in the coordination of communities of practice (CoPs) • Contributes to the preparation of communication material, e.g. brochures, posters and newsletters. • Helps develop and maintain learning resource information on OCHALearn, OCHAinews and OCHA’s SharePoint. • Responds to various inquiries and information requests internally and externally for staff learning opportunities. • Assists in the organization of meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops, webinars, etc. to facilitate learning. • Assists in establishing and maintaining platforms and systems for OCHA staff development courses and training providers. • Assists in tracking, monitoring and reporting on learning activities through learning management systems and other data collection methods. • Performs tasks as requested by supervisor, as appropriate.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Languages
English and French are the official working languages of the United Nations. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
