The Cork facility is part of the Pharma Services Business which manufactures API pharmaceutical medicines, including treatments for cancer, depression, and Parkinson’s disease.

The hallmark of our Cork facility is our technical excellence in drug development, process development and production execution.

We have a highly skilled workforce with many of our employees engaged in drug development, process development, chemical & process engineering. Cork has a co-located R&D plant on-site, working with early stage and product development processes. The diversification into manufacturing consumer healthcare ingredients in 2013 is a great example of how the site adapts and innovates.

A day in the Life:

A Process Engineering Student will provide process engineering support for processes in the Cork site to ensure that the sites technical, quality and safety metrics are all achieved. Students can be placed in multiple departments such as Manufacturing, Science & Technology (MSAT), Process Development Services (PDS), Capital Projects, Operations or Planning & Scheduling

  • Acquire a detailed understanding of the technical aspects of the processes, equipment and facilities.
  • Contribute to development initiatives such as those involved in process understanding, control and capability as required.
  • Support troubleshooting activities.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical investigations on plant.
  • Support process and equipment activities on plant.
  • Provide technical support for product changeovers.
  • Support process start up activities through generation of relevant documentation.
