College of Biomedical and Life SciencesThis is an exciting opportunity to be a member of a National Institute for Health and Care Research-funded study teaming working aims to understand safety, risks and the balance of harms and benefits arising from care received by patients within their own homes. The study is led by Professor Andrew-Carson Stevens, Professor of Patient Safety, at Cardiff University.The successful candidate will work with closely with Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens and colleagues from the School of Medicine, the School of Law and Politics, and the Centre for Adult Social Care Research (CARE) at Cardiff University, our public contributors, ENRICH Cymru and University College London.They will work independently, with support from Research Assistant, to carry out a realist review of literature surrounding home-based care and its safety, lead stakeholder focus groups and interviews with key respondents, and interviews with service users and informal/unpaid caregivers. This role will also include dissemination activities and involvement with publications and conferences.The successful applicant will work closely with a team of clinical academics, social care representatives and public and patient contributors with a focus on discovering what good caring outcomes are within a home-based context.   • To independently develop research objectives within a home-based care study. To develop research networks through regular national presentations
  • To generate and pursue independent and original research ideas in the field of research and support the initiation of new lines of research in related areas
  • To disseminate research findings using appropriate and effective national and international publications, research seminars, meetings and conferences
  • To build and create networks both internally and externally to the university, to influence decisions, explore future research requirements, and share research ideas for the benefit of research projects
  • To supervise and develop other research staff within own research projects
