Job DescriptionWORK ARRANGEMENT

  • This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Oshawa Elevation Centre or Markham Elevation Centre, three times per week, at minimum.

THE ROLEReporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications and Community Outreach, the Internal Communications Manager will develop communication content and support events and community outreach initiatives for General Motors Canada to enhance communication effectiveness, employee engagement, and the company’s reputation in the community. This individual will also provide administrative support for the GM Canada communications team.This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the capability to build and maintain relationships across the enterprise. The individual should appreciate a fast-paced, high-energy team and be adaptable to change. This position is a unique opportunity to learn and grow into a career as a communications professional.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Creation: Develop content in a wide variety of formats for internal communication channels. Craft clear and impactful communications and handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Project Management: Assist in the planning and execution of communication projects, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives are achieved. Track project progress and provide updates as necessary.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across various departments to gather information, coordinate efforts, and ensure the successful completion of projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Event Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of internal, ensuring all logistics are handled seamlessly.
  • Support Employee Engagement: Support corporate giving and community outreach programs, and employee engagement initiatives aligned with GM’s vision, values and behaviors.
  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director, Communications, GM Canada including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRMENTS

  • University degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience developing internal communications for a complex organization and a demonstrated understanding of corporate priorities.
  • Superior writing skills and effective storytelling capabilities.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high-level of integrity and discretion handling confidential matters.
