in Berlin, or remote within Germany as soon as possible

The International Rescue Committee Germany is part of the IRC global network, which has its headquarter in New York. The IRC is on the ground in more than 40 countries, providing emergency relief, relocating refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster.
STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Mass Marketing team’s mission is to inspire the German public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The main purpose of this role is to support the Director of Fundraising (Mass Marketing) in generating long-term sustainable growth, maximizing income and developing a diverse and supporter-centric digital fundraising program.
As the Associate Director for Data operations management, you will be responsible for setting up data flows and interfaces for our CRM, as well as managing data and overseeing gift processing for MMDE. You will also be responsible for data segmentation and marketing automation. Further, the post holder will support the Retention team with segmentations, data pulls, managing the growing pool of existing donors and making data based decision recommendations. Being part of a growing team, this role is intended to cover a leading role for the German market.

The post holder will be responsible for the data management incl. gift processing of IRC DE, establishing and managing interfaces, data segmentation and marketing automation.

The post holder will work in close collaboration with External Relations and IT colleagues to provide support to the wider IRC DE team where and when required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Your main responsibility will be to oversee and be accountable for the activities of the data and operations management team and find technical solutions for data-related issues. In addition, to create audience segmentations based on data-driven decisions and translate it to personalized multi-channel marketing automation. You will manage our interfaces and data imports and exports to ensure that high quality data is consistently available across all systems. This will mean:
- To ensure our database includes all supporter details and interactions, as well as guaranteeing all data is processed in line with the IRC’s internal procedures and is compliant with the GDPR.
- Manage our interfaces and data imports/exports and ensuring that the data is consistently available across all systems.
- Ensure that the data structure in the system covers our requirements.
- Set up and manage data exchange between IRC and external agencies
- Develop the interfaces to the existing systems together with service providers
- Support the setup of automations and ensure the workflows.
- Optimization of a personalized multichannel communication with donors by marketing automation (Pardot).
- Sophisticated audience segmentation for acquisition and retention purposes based on data-driven decisions.
- Ensure a clear and evaluable structure of our data and further develop the tools and queries.
- Guarantee the process donations received through various channels as well as refunds and online direct debit instructions through agreed procedures and complete any related fulfilment.
- Creation and optimization of reporting processes, as well as coordination with the global CRM and Analytics teams
- Management and further development of the Date Operation Management team, as well as support of the individual team members
- Representation of the Director Mass Markets in Germany in the event of illness, holidays or other absences.

- To represent IRC in Germany in a manner that ensures appropriate communication with our supporters and stakeholders.
- To develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other departments and teams in Germany and within IRC globally.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Educated to bachelor’s degree
- More than 4 years of experience in working with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce and experienced in building and maintaining integrations with other platforms
- At least two years of experience in leading a team
- Experience working in an NGO
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with external suppliers and internal staff at all levels
- Flexibility to respond quickly to changes in short-term work priorities
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office application, especially Excel
- A hands-on attitude
- Commitment to the goals and values of the IRC
- Knowledge of reporting and monitoring success of ads against key KPIs, primarily Return on Investment (ROI).
- Experience and understanding of creative process and relationship with brand identity through different channels and audiences
- Detailed understanding of digital fundraising techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and fluent in English
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office application
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Experience using with SalesForce or equivalent CRM
- Understanding of fundraising practices, codes of conduct and legislation
- Proven ability using analytics to inform and influence decision-making
- Excellent IT skills for CRM systems and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage a complex, varied workload
- Able to plan and prioritize tasks
- Good writing skills
- Able to establish and build relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds, both within IRC and externally
Desirable:
- Experience with marketing automation
- Experience of working with agencies
Preferred:
- Experience working for a centralized, international organization would be a strong advantage
