International Corporate Affairs Lead

Position description

A job at Proximus? You’ll find that everything revolves around the idea ‘Think Possible’. This means: we always assume that something is possible, even if it seems impossible. Well, especially so, actually. Call it a way of thinking that involves being open to a world of digital solutions that make our lives easier. And our way of working smarter.

Role Summary:

The International Corporate Affairs Lead serves as the pivotal point of contact between the Proximus Group corporate affairs departments at the headquarters and the international activities (i.e. DI, carrier and CPaaS). This role is crucial in steering the corporate affairs functions in the international activities and in ensuring the alignment and harmonization of corporate activities across the Proximus Group, adhering to national regulations while upholding the governance standards set by the headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison officer to facilitate seamless communication and alignment between the headquarters’ corporate affairs departments (i.e. legal, data, audit, risk, compliance, regulatory, sustainability and communication) and those of the international activities.
  • Act as the Lead for the corporate affairs departments adhered to the international activities.
  • Ensure that all corporate affairs activities are harmonized and consistent with the strategic objectives of the Proximus Group.
  • Monitor and enforce the application of headquarters’ governance practices across all entities, ensuring compliance with both international and local regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with legal, data, audit, risk, compliance, regulation, sustainability, and communication departments to maintain a unified approach.
  • Guide international affiliates in interpreting and implementing headquarters’ policies within the context of their local regulations and cultural norms.
  • Develop frameworks for regular reporting and feedback loops to keep the headquarters informed of the affiliates’ activities and challenges.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across entities to foster a cohesive corporate culture.
  • Address discrepancies and resolve conflicts that may arise due to differing national regulations or operational practices.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on enhancing global corporate affairs integration and effectiveness.
  • Reporting to the Group Corporate Affairs Lead of Proximus

Your Profile

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Law, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a multinational corporate environment, with a strong background in corporate affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and harmonize diverse operational practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with a proven track record as an effective mediator and negotiator.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities, with a focus on detail and precision.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in multiple languages being highly advantageous.
  • Willing to travel
  • Good managerial and administrative skills
  • Adept at building consensus and fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect.

What do we offer you?

  • We are 100% Belgian. So we make decisions in three languages. And all at the same time if you like!
  • We are open to everyone: M, W, X, and in fact all the other letters of the alphabet.
  • We encourage personal growth. At the Proximus Academy, you won’t even want to miss a session.
  • We are, of course, committed to sustainability. What else did you think?
  • We firmly believe that working together is important, but that having fun together is even more so. That is why we regularly organise fun activities. (Please let us know if you have a talent for playing Santa Claus!)
  • We believe in responsibility. Also in yours. For example, you can take it to launch your own initiatives.
  • We put our customers first. And because we are all customers somewhere, you already know what that means. That’s good.
  • And the ever-important work-life balance? We keep it in the right place.
