The Multiple Flexible Pathways (MFP) team in the education section manage two major programmes: Dirasa and Makani through around 10 implementing partners across the country. The programmes target out of school children and youth, aged 5 to 18 years, Lebanese, and non-Lebanese, living in the most vulnerable cadasters to provide them basically with education and in combination with other additional complementary services: Health & Nutrition, Youth & Adolescents and Child protection. The aim is to ensure the child or youth acquire the needed skills and competencies appropriate to his/her age and level so he or she can be transmitted to advanced path in life or work.

Objectives:

The objective of the internship is to provide practical, organizational, and logistical assistance to the MFP team in the implementation of the MFP programmes. In this process, the intern will gain knowledge of the substantive and operational aspects of the different Education programmes, the main phases of implementation, profiling of vulnerabilities, data management and reporting process.

How can you make a difference? 

Under the overall AWP of the Education section-MFP unit, and directly reporting to the manager of the MFP unit, specific assignments may include but not limited to:

  • Support the MFP team in carrying out programmatic visits to MFP sites following a clear schedule and depending on specified and structured objectives.
  • Support the MFP team in the monitoring of quality data reports and verification of results.
  • Assist the MFP team in monitoring the trainings/Cascades conducted to and by partners.
  • Provide logistical support to the MFP team on activities throughout the programme implementation by preparing related materials/documentation/data to facilitate follow-up on programme implementation and reporting and documenting programme best practices and lessons learned.
  • Support the MFP team in the development of tools, reporting, delivering plans for supplies, and organizing conferences and workshops.

Deliverables:

Throughout the internship, the intern will be delivering the following:

  • Support in carrying out HACT visits to Makani and Dirasa sites.
  • Support in the monitoring of quality data reports and verification of results.
  • Assist in monitoring the trainings/Cascades conducted to and by partners.
  • Provide logistical support by preparing related materials/documentation/data to facilitate follow-up on programme implementation.
  • Support in the development of tools, reporting, delivering plans for supplies, and organizing conferences and workshops.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Enrolled in or have graduated from a degree programme in one of the majors: Science, Education, and law.
  • Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and computer skills (MS applications, especially Word, Publisher and Excel).
  • Strong command of English and Arabic is essential. Knowledge of French is considered an asset.
  • A high level of individual responsibility, commitment and initiative.
  • Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.

Administrative issues:

  • The Intern will provide her/himself with a laptop.
  • UNICEF will provide a temporary desk and access to Internet and printing facilities at the UNICEF offices.
  • Successful candidates are expected to arrange for the visa requirements, when required.
  • UNICEF Lebanon may assist with the visa procedures; however, all visa related costs must be borne by the Intern.
  • The selected intern will be required to share proof of health/medical insurance prior to contract issuance. Health/Medical Insurance costs will be borne by the intern.
  • UNICEF Lebanon will provide the selected intern Malicious Acts Insurance Coverage for service-incurred injuries and malicious acts as per the Appendix D of UN Staff Rules
