Internship Sustainable Supply Chain

Who are we?

DRC is a non-profit organization that works worldwide to help and protect refugees, internally displaced and other conflict-affected persons. DRC is looking for an intern who will get the opportunity to work with a broad range of sustainable supply chain initiatives, e.g., by sourcing environmentally friendly relief items, writing stories to publish in the monthly newsletter, mapping fleet activities.

About the internship

The intern will be based in DRC’s FRISC-Supply Chain sustainable team and have a close cooperation with our colleagues in the Supply Chain in Headquarters, the Regions and the Countries.

Hence the intern will be involved in DRC engagement in sustainable procurement, logistics, fixed assets, fleet management and circular economy projects. The intern will support various aspects of sustainability, knowledge management and development of strategies and approaches to relevant thematic areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to obtain an in-depth understanding of the functioning of DRC and its work in the area of sustainable supply chain.

The intern will be supporting colleagues while gaining valuable working experience.

Responsibilities

The intern will be working alongside other DRC colleagues on matters concerning sustainability in supply chain management.

The intern is expected to:

  • Participate in meetings.
  • Participate as part of a small project team, supporting the collection, review, analysis, and reporting of data from DRC global operations.
  • Support the implementation of DRC decarbonization roadmap covering procurement, construction, energy, fleet & transportation, circular economy, and waste management.
  • Contribute to the development of awareness raising materials, case studies, articles, newsletters and other published material.

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study program.

About you

The intern should be able to work both individually and together with other colleagues. All employees and interns in DRC should master DRC’s core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

The intern should be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Be enlisted at a university for a relevant education at master’s level (this is a prerequisite for the internship) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Supply chain, Logistics.
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Be effective in the use of MS Office and preferably MS 365.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in developing awareness-raising and communication content.

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university in order to be considered for the internship.

We offer

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue.

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Borgergade 10, Copenhagen.

Start date: Ideally end of January/beginning of February 2025. We can be flexible on the start Working hours: Approximately 32 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

  • 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated.
  • Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open).
  • Free participation in our Summer/Winter party (subject to dates)

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa),

you will need to apply for it yourself, should you be selected for the internship. This process can take up to three months from initiating the process. You can read more here.
