How can you make a difference? 

UNICEF is looking for a national intern to join the education team. The selected intern, in collaboration with and under the guidance of their supervisor, will work on the Access to Quality Formal Education and Skills Development Programmes for the most vulnerable children and adolescents.

Deliverables:

The intern is expected to support and improve programme documentation as well as knowledge management related to access of children to formal education and provision of skills development programmes to the children in upper-secondary level of formal education.
The intern will:
• Support for the initial review of progress reports
• Support events/meetings/workshops logistics by pursuing tasks related to participants, venue checks etc.
• Collate event/workshop reports and share with relevant officer.
• Check dashboard data of relevant programmes and verify the entries.
• Support translation between English and Turkish and vice versa of key programme related documents.
• Take notes (English and/or Turkish) during the meetings, when needed.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years – Applicants must be at least 18 years old (preferably Educational Sciences, Literary Sciences, or other relevant social science).
  • To be fluent in English, with strong writing skills. Additionally, fluency in another official and working language of the UN would be an asset.
  • To have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Additional consideration will be given for any past experience in related fields.
  • Excellent command on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office
  • Have no other relatives in the line of authority the intern will report to.

 

Duty Station: Ankara

Supervisor: Education Officer

Duration: 6 months

Modality: On-site and full-time

STIPEND: In accordance with UNICEF’s guidelines, interns will be paid a nominal stipend per month. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.

INSURANCE: UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern’s service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work. If accepted, the intern will be required to provide a copy of health insurance coverage and to fill out the relevant UNICEF forms on conditions regarding service as an intern.
