Duties

Major duties include, but are not limited to: 

Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses. 

Ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies. 

Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance and prevent unauthorized usage. 

Identify and assess risks related to IT asset and configuration management. 

Generate reports and provides insights on asset utilization, compliance, and configuration changes. 

Design and maintain and implement hardware and software configurations for consistent deployment. 

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop engineering issues. 

Develop and implement standardized image libraries and deployment policies for efficient desktop configuration. 

Ensure the system of records (ServiceNow) has accurate records for Mobile, Asset, Software and Change Management. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. 

Qualifying specialized experience for GS-14 includes: 

Experience applying advanced configuration management principles and methods sufficient to develop and implement standardized image libraries (task sequence) and deployment policies for efficient desktop configuration.

Experience in providing technical expertise and leadership in configuration management to ensure configurations are well-documented, regularly updated, and maintained. 

Experience in the evaluation, design, and implementation of new technologies across the IT services environment to include all relevant desktop management and imaging services. 

Experience in the evaluation, design, and implementation of security controls to mitigate desktop cyber risks in compliance with all federal mandates and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG’s).
