DescriptionThe purpose of Operation & Application Support IIT is to be the local site application owner and primary IT contact for leadership within the INNIO Welland manufacturing facility. INNIO Welland is the manufacturer of large gas compression engines for the INNIO Waukesha Business Unit.They will be a member of the INNIO Global IT Organization reporting to the Waukesha Business Unit IT leader. They will have responsibility for the local business applications and a support resource for global enterprise resources. They will align to the site leadership to advance both the operational and strategic vision aligned to global IT roadmap. The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of the IT ecosystem in an industrial manufacturing setting. The application portfolio is focused on manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operational applications. The candidate will coordinate support and project delivery with the greater global IT organization. They will partner with stakeholders in the development and deployment of IT solutions by defining requirements, develop processes and assisting in the creation of business cases. They will engage technical resources, operations, and service providers to deliver specific value add functionality. It is expected to work across several functions and applications, based on business need and priority. As the primary point of contact for the location, they will also provide direction and guidance to the on-site deskside, network, and infrastructure team.This role is expected to be on site in Welland, Ontario, Canada with some flexibility for occasional remote work.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide standard and non-standard technical support to end-users in response to specific requests. Utilizes established operating procedures to review and resolve end-user technology issues; troubleshoots and resolves standard and non-standard hardware and software problems.
  • Support and local expert to the Operational MES system in the shop floor (GE Proficy)
  • Application, systems and IIT support relating to requirements in the manufacturing and shop floor environment.
  • Align and prioritize IT initiatives to achieve faster, more efficient, and measurable outcomes – hardware, software, and infrastructure; enable growth and productivity.
  • Telephony and audio-visual support and integration.
  • Align with IIT support and project resource for North America relating to vendor and user requirements.
  • Provide training on hardware and software for end-users; performs and supports testing and documentation activities. Documents operational problems; communicates with vendors, users, and other IT staff.
  • Participate in the coordination of corrective actions as appropriate, document problems and their resolution, and ensure the operational integrity of all changes to the operating environment. May work independently or as part of a team, with general supervision.
  • Partner with business and customer stakeholders to prioritize, define requirements and translate those requirements for delivery to technical development teams.
  • Key role to trouble-shoot and resolve operational issues as needed.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • Training employees on process-related tasks and systems
  • Conducting process audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with teams to implement process enhancements.
  • Be regarded as an expert in a variety of IT applications the support the end-to-end value chain in industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrates excelling business acumen, knows latest industry trends.
  • Monitoring and Incident Management: responsible for monitoring systems, processes, and customer interactions to identify and resolve any issues or incidents that may arise.
  • Analyzing operational issues, identifies the underlying problems, and implements appropriate solutions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Works closely with other departments, such as IT, customer service, and production, to address cross-functional issues and ensure collaboration.

Technical Qualifications/ Characteristics:

  • Education in Information Technology, Engineering or Math field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Oracle EBS ERP system in the areas of Inventory, BOM, WIP and Order Management, Warehouse Management
  • Understanding of OT and IT networks
  • Experience working with MES systems.
  • Experience of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Experience with Industry 4.0
  • Report writing methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence Applications such as Tableau
  • ITIL and PMO methodology
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing and services environment

  • Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions.
  • Willingness to learn multiple functions and takes initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
  • Able to work well with multi-cultural global teams, including time-zone flexibility
