Job Title: IT Technical Project ManagerDepartment: Information TechnologyReports to: Senior IT DirectorLocation: In Office, Orange, CTThe base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $114,332.80 – $142,916JOB SUMMARY:The IT Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing the overall implementation of IT Application projects. The role manages various programs and projects and provides technical leadership on behalf of the AVANGRID IT group with objectives of providing an IT technical solution to meet the requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides Technical leadership on various programs and projects. Management includes development of scope, creation of project team, management of project team (Matrix style) across business and IT areas (Architecture, Infrastructure, Governance, Security, Networking), Solution design creation, Solution Sign off, project design execution, Operational handover and close out.2. Determine project management delivery style based on methodologies available, the project requirements. Required to adapt to new styles, train/coach vendor on AVANGRID process or manage working in an AGILE way where applicable.3. Master’s in systems Thinking, Solution Architectural Design and knowledge of Enterprise Software solutions.4. Addressing complex technical challenges by finding innovative solutions that meet both technical and business constraints.5. Experience in implementation of Open Technologies (Java, Angular, Spring boot, Web/Mobile app and AI) projects using DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools.6. Ensuring that solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices.7. Working closely with developers, Application managers, and other IT professionals to oversee the implementation of solutions.8. Leads cross-functional project teams. Holds regular program/project status meetings.9. Is the lead team member with respect to accomplishing day-to-day goals and provides direction and leads decision-making. Holds project team members accountable for results.10. Manages Vendor relationships, system integrators, contractors and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis.11. Responsible for innovation target within Global IT and Avangrid. Required to submit ideas to global IT for innovation and execute Proof of concepts on approved ideas.12. Perform Lead role for IT in any Storm related activities, IT Event Coordinator. When activated this report directly to the Area Commander and provide co-ordination services across the entire IT organization. Attend all area command meetings and report IT status as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education Required:Minimum Bachelor’s degree required in Information systems, IT, Computer Science/engineering, or a related Field.7 years relevant experience required.Skills/Abilities:Microsoft Suite advanced user.AGILE methodology experience (preferred).At least 3 years of experience with various IT areas.Knowledge of IT design and solution architecture design.Leadership skills including leading project team.Keeping up with emerging Technologies and Innovation like AI, Gen AI, IoT..etc.Experience/Training:Minimum 7 years relevant IT experience is required.Technical Project management experience.3-5 years of IT work preferred including AGILE project management, solution design and implementation experience.Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT.Experience in leading projects and / or teamsExperience managing projects with GIS integrations to Enterprise SystemsPrior technical leadership or supervisory experience.Experience in designing, integrating and deploying solutions in Cloud Services like Azure and AWS.Company:AVANGRID SERVICE COMPANYMobility InformationPlease note that any applicant who is not a citizen of the country of the vacancy will be subject to compliance with the applicable immigration requirements to legally work in that countryAVANGRID’s employment practices and policies are geared to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
