Exciting opportunity for tenure track researcher – potato scienceThe James Hutton Institute is seeking a highly motivated researcher for an exciting joint research endeavour with the International Potato Centre (CIP). This collaborative position offers a fantastic opportunity to advance diploid research in potatoes working in a highly motivated team of researchers through synergistic approaches that leverage the strengths of both organisations.The post holder’s responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in genetics, or a related field and experience in the genetic characterisation of traits in crops. The postholder will be a team player and will proactively seek funding from academic and industry sources for research and breeding activities, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the scientific agenda. Additionally, they are expected to actively engage in the supervision of staff and students, contributing to the collaborative and knowledge-sharing ethos of the position.The postholder’s primary contract will be with The James Hutton Institute, with a secondment to the International Potato Centre for up to 50% of the time.
