Location: London-based (Hybrid: Remote + Office)
Contract: full time, initial 12 months with potential to extend.
Deadline: Friday 7th November, 2025, 23:59 BST
Climate News Tracker, a new not-for-profit organisation committed to enhancing
the visibility and impact of climate change reporting in UK broadcast and digital news, is
seeking a Journalism Insights Analyst to join our team.
We are looking for someone with real experience of working in UK newsrooms, or close
collaboration with them. You may be a current journalist seeking a change from day to day news
production. You will ideally have a background in climate, science, or environmental
journalism but newsroom experience is the key. This role requires a strong understanding of the
UK’s main news organisations and their audiences as you will critically
evaluate and feedback how climate and other topics are reported across major TV, radio, and
online platforms.
If successful, you’ll play a vital role in supporting journalism by assessing not just the
frequency of coverage, but the editorial framing, tone, accuracy, and effectiveness of Public
Service Broadcasters (PSBs) and others. Your insights will directly inform how newsrooms
understand their own content, connect with audiences, and report the biggest story of our time
About Us
Founded and led by journalists, Climate News Tracker works in partnership with the University
of Exeter’s Centre for Climate Communication and Data Science (C3DS) to track and analyse
climate news. We monitor how climate issues are represented and work with journalists to
support more effective, audience-focused reporting.
