Journalist

Kyodo News is looking for a full-time Journalist to support the Brussels Bureau Correspondent for economy.

Responsibilities

  • Make a daily brief press review about economy in Europe
  • Getting appointments with executives from International Organizations and Companies
  • Gathering informations and data necessary for writing articles
  • Contact experts and researchers, make interviews when necessary
  • Take notes (script) from briefings and press conferences
  • Accompanying the Correspondent in interviews and interpreting into English (if possible into Japanese). Possible travels across Europe.
  • Support the Correspondent when questions on how to access some information, sources or European economy in general

Expect to be called for:

  • Press conferences and briefings from ECB, EIB, IEA, OPEC, OECD, BOE.
  • Press conferences and briefings from Renault, Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW, Airbus, Deutsche Bank, HSBC…
  • ECJ decisions about Companies.

What we offer

We are aiming a long term fulltime position.

Starting as soon as possible, with a contract for a definite duration of 6 months with potential prolongation.
