Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. This post is suitable for someone who wishes to obtain advanced training in Cardiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to both the inpatient and outpatient care of patients, on a full time basis, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post will run for 6 months and possibility for extension.Main duties of the jobDepending on the candidates preferences, there will also be opportunities for experience in advanced imaging (cardiac MRI and CT, advanced echo and nuclear imaging).If suitably trained, the candidate will be offered the option to join the general cardiology SpR on call rota alongside 15 other SpRs.As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. In leveraging the best from each organisation our goal is to deliver the best cardiovascular and respiratory outcomes for people, wherever they receive care, and to improve the health and wellbeing of populations.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe post-holder will have additional responsibilities in assisting with both inpatient and outpatient care for Cardiology patients. This includes participation in relevant outpatient clinics each week, with appropriate supervision and support from consultants. Additionally, the post-holder will contribute to the care of patients on the wards and manage referrals.Alternatively, the time could be used to develop an audit or research project.Other duties may be required or developed as needed, depending on the post-holder’s skills and the needs of the clinical service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, particularly in areas such as heart failure, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Intervention.   • MRCP completed or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration

  • Postgraduate research
  • On GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT
