- Join the Host State Relations (RH) service in the Diplomatic and Stakeholder Relations (DS) group in the International Relations (IR) sector! The mission of the Host State Relations service is to contribute to the proper functioning of CERN by working in collaboration with the Host State authorities and other Swiss and French public entities.
As a Junior Officer for Host State Relations, you will join a dynamic, multi-tasking team and perform a variety of tasks, including contributing to:
- Conducting research and providing analyses on administrative and diplomatic issues;
- Collecting documentation and drafting notes and presentations for meetings with Host State authorities;
- Following-up on meetings and processes (writing minutes, letters, emails, etc., including of a confidential nature);
- Analysing requests and questions from local stakeholders and issues raised by CERN Departments and staff members related to Host States procedures and drafting positions and answers;
- Preparing notes verbales, letters and documents relevant to the Host State authorities in the context of processes, events and visits;
- Ensuring maintenance of the institutional memory of the Service, including monitoring files and ensuring proper archiving of information.

- Interest in diplomatic and stakeholder relations;
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
- Desire and ability to work in a team within a large international organization;
- Fast learner, capable of grasping new concepts rapidly and effectively;
- Excellent writing skills in French, with a good knowledge of English.
ligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in International Affairs, Legal Affairs (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
