Key Account Executive – Ireland

We’re looking for a pro-active, organised, and collaborative person to join our Penguin Random House Ireland Sales Team in Dublin. You will be responsible for helping grow sales, develop direct trading relationships with booksellers and increase the showcasing of our books, our authors, and our brands across stores in Ireland.

Reporting to one of our Sales Managers, you will work across our 8 publishing businesses but with specific accountability for areas of our Children’s list working on authors such as Jeff Kinney, Esme Higgs and Katie Kirby, as well as mega brands such as Bluey and Peppa Pig.

There are 14 staff in our Penguin Random House Ireland office who all work closely to support each other. You’ll also be working with our UK colleagues and the role will require quarterly trips to London.

Key Outputs:

  • Work in conjunction with one of our Sales Managers to build a strategic plan for our Children’s publishing in Ireland.
  • Develop strong relationships with our UK based Children’s publishing division and regularly join the over-arching Children’s Sales department meetings to develop ideas to grow our Irish sales.
  • You will be given the opportunity to directly manage Irish retail accounts with the aim to help them grow across all our publishing companies.
  • Work alongside our Irish and UK based teams to develop content for selected titles to optimise bookseller grass roots support.
  • Visit stores across Ireland, communicating all insight to internal stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicate with stores, becoming the booksellers’ go to contact for PRH content such as proofs and point of sale.

Skills & Experience:

  • Some knowledge of the Children’s publishing market in Ireland would be beneficial.
  • A strong team player with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude who is comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Persuasive and charismatic; you will whip up enthusiasm for our books and authors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as being a skilled & confident presenter.
  • A genuine love of books and bookshops, and a passion for sharing that love with others!

Salary: Circa €36,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
