About usUCL and Perspectum, a healthcare platform developing AI-enabled digital technologies as decision-support tools for clinicians, are coming together through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a national scheme which helps businesses to innovate and grow by linking them with a university and a highly qualified graduate, known as a KTPWe are recruiting a KTP Associate to work full time on an innovative project putting the latest academic research into practice, who will be employed by , specifically in the Department of Brain Repair and Rehabilitation, but will be based at the Perspectum offices and receive regular supervision from Professor David Werring and Professor Karin Shmueli at UCL.About the roleYou will lead a project that will apply cutting edge research in Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) to the medical software and device industry. Based at Perspectum Ltd and with full support from clinical neurologists and MRI QSM experts at UCL, you will translate state-of-the-art QSM techniques into software-as-a-service (SaaS) with the goal of commercialisation, and deployment into the market.You will integrate UCL’s QSM research into Perspectum’s offerings, optimising a robust acquisition protocol and processing pipeline for QSM, validating it against clinical data, producing high-quality research publications, and delivering a SaaS solution ready for clinical trials. The goal is to create real impact for patients with infratentorial superficial siderosis, a progressive neurological condition caused by the deposition of the iron-containing compound haemosiderin around the brain and spinal cord. This work holds potential relevance for patients being treated with new medications that slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.You will be part of the prestigious 50-year-old Innovate UK KTP programme, which offers a dedicated professional development budget, a network of fellow Associates from various disciplines, and training and mentoring opportunities.
