An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Year 2 Teacher and Phase Lead to join a highly regarded Primary School in Barnet. The school is known for its commitment to excellence, offering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where both students and staff thrive.In this dual role, you will be responsible for leading a vibrant Year 2 cohort while also taking on the leadership of the Key Stage 1 phase. As Phase Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and ensuring that the high standards of teaching and learning are maintained across Year 1 and Year 2.Key Responsibilities:As Year 2 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire Year 2 students to reach their full potential.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with other Year 2 staff and teaching assistants to ensure high-quality teaching.

As Phase Lead (KS1):

  • Lead and mentor a team of teachers within Key Stage 1, supporting their professional development and ensuring the delivery of a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
  • Take responsibility for tracking and monitoring the academic progress of students in Key Stage 1.
  • Coordinate phase-wide initiatives and ensure consistency in teaching and learning across Year 1 and Year 2.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to implement school-wide strategies and improvements.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Year 2 and strong knowledge of the national curriculum for KS1
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to support and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
  • A passion for education and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children
