Job Summary
A leading specialist school in Richmond is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced KS2 Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team. This role involves teaching small classes of students with special educational needs (SEN) and creating a nurturing environment that fosters their academic and personal growth.
- Full-time, permanent position starting January
- Teach small KS2 groups with individualized learning plans
- Excellent CPD and supportive leadership team
Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the unique needs of KS2 students with SEN, such as autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCo, therapists, and parents to design and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that address students’ developmental and educational needs.
- Use creative teaching strategies, sensory activities, and hands-on learning approaches to ensure lessons are accessible and enjoyable for all students.
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons and teaching methods to help every child achieve their potential.
- Lead and work closely with teaching assistants to provide consistent and holistic support for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to share progress updates and collaborate on strategies for continued growth.
- Participate in staff training, school initiatives, and professional development sessions to enhance your expertise in SEN education.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with experience teaching KS2 students.
- Proven experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a specialist or inclusive setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies, behaviour management techniques, and KS2 curriculum requirements.
- Patience, creativity, and empathy to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for inclusive education.
- Enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
