) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary centre of the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy, and training to support sustainable development and food security worldwide.An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Coordinator to join the Chemical Ecology and Plant Biochemistry Group. The Group develops nature-based solutions for managing pests and improving pollination services through research on chemicals used by animals and plants to mediate interactions with each other and their surroundings.The post-holder’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate and maintain the chemical analysis and synthesis laboratories of the Group. This will include maintenance of HPLC, GC-FID and GC-MS equipment and associated software and networks, an inventory of chemical standards, and our library of synthesised chemicals. The post-holder will be responsible for health and safety in the laboratory, including safe storage of chemicals and the administration of data from our research.The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to research and consultancy projects, carrying out analyses by GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC and LC-MS, assisting in isolation of natural products and assisting in developing and producing controlled-release formulations, for example.
