About us The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) combines the strengths of UCL’s basic biological and preclinical sciences, some of its constituent research departments have long and distinguished histories that can be traced back to the early nineteenth century when UCL was founded and there are 11 Nobel Laureates associated with Life Sciences. The Faculty continues to build on existing strengths in cell and developmental biology, computational biology, evolutionary and population genetics, cellular and circuits neuroscience, and structural and molecular biology.The School of Pharmacy has a proud record of teaching innovation and is able to attract high quality students at both undergraduate (MPharm) and postgraduate (taught Masters level) as well as hosting a thriving postgraduate researcher and postdoctoral early career researcher population. We encourage public outreach and are active in areas such as fighting counterfeit medicines, raising public awareness of science and promoting literacy and health in developing countries.About the role The purpose of this role will be to provide technical support and assistance to a technical team/area within a School of Pharmacy. The scope of activity may include aiding in research/teaching. The role holder will support a range of technical support activities, for example, contributing to maintenance of equipment/systems/assets and/or supporting research facilities.A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.If you have any queries about the role, please contact Steve Bunting at s.bunting@ucl.ac.uk.About you The successful candidate will primarily support the teaching laboratories in the School of Pharmacy, which deliver practical education for MPharm and MSc courses. The selection criteria include.

  • A minimum of two A Levels in relevant subjects or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ, Apprenticeship, City & Guild), plus some experience in a relevant technical/scientific role.
  • Or Considerable work experience in a relevant technical/scientific role.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedures
  • A basic understanding of Science (within the areas of Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry Sciences)
  • Experience in a laboratory environment is desirable
