Contract type: Variable Hours (up to 10 hours per week) – Fixed Term (31/08/2026)Location: Guildford, Surrey International Study CentreSalary: up to £33.57 per hourSurrey International Study Centre and its programmes are provided by Study Group. You will work with colleagues across the Centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our teaching, learning and assessment strategy, broader scholarship and aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Centre. As a law tutor you will be teaching at Foundation (FHEQ Level 3) additionally, you may be required to teach Year One Undergraduate (FHEQ Level 4), and Pre-Master levels (FHEQ Level 6) as a Tutor.ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide academic coordination for the designated module(s) in the role of module coordinator
  • Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff contributing to the effective overall management of the programmes and the student life cycle.
  • Contribute to the delivery of modules offered by the centre.
  • Contribute to the delivery and assessment of provision.
  • Update and maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
  • Work with the college’s Student & Academic Services team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes.
  • Liaise with the Progression, Welfare and Support team to support students in achieving their progression aim.
  • Engage in scholarly activity to ensure the delivery of modules is current.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of the programme to achieve high standards
  • Fully use centre systems to log and monitor student attendance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student engagement
  • Complete sponsor reports and academic reports for students.
  • Take up opportunities such as (for example) VLE development; Peer Observation activities.
  • Undertake teaching, learning and assessment observations and associated staff development plans to ensure standards within the subject area.
  • Any other duties as required from time to time by the Head of SEC and Centre Director

ABOUT YOU

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (Law)
  • A master’s qualification is desirable
  • Candidates holding or near completion of a PhD qualification in law is desirable.
  • Experience teaching in UK higher or further education and preferably a teaching qualification and experience working with international students
